Privacy policy
Last updated 8 September 2026.
WakeHard collects nothing about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, and the app makes no network requests at all. It has no server, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent.
Photos
The final wake-up challenge asks you to photograph a room. That photo is analysed on your iPhone using Vision, Apple's on-device image classifier, to decide whether it shows the room you were asked for. The image is held in memory only for as long as that check takes and is then discarded.
- Photos are never uploaded anywhere.
- Photos are never written to your photo library.
- Photos are never stored by the app.
- Nobody, including us, ever sees them.
The app requests camera access solely for this challenge, and only uses the camera while a challenge is on screen.
Motion
The shake challenge reads the accelerometer to count how much you move the phone. Those readings are used for the count on screen and are not recorded or transmitted.
Your alarms
The alarms you create are stored on your device, in the iOS keychain, so they survive reinstalling the app. Alarm times are also handed to iOS itself through AlarmKit so the system can ring at the right moment. None of it leaves your phone or reaches us.
What we would have to tell you about, but do not have
- No advertising or advertising identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs, trackers or crash reporters.
- No location data.
- No contacts, calendar, health or microphone access.
The App Store
WakeHard is distributed through the App Store. Apple collects its own information about downloads and crashes, which is covered by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one. We see only the anonymous, aggregated figures Apple shows every developer, and nothing that identifies you.
Children
WakeHard is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top will change with it. If a future version of the app collects anything at all, that will be said plainly here before it ships.
